And We Are Off!

I hate to admit it, but it has taken a year for me to get back to building this web site.
Problem was, since I am a web designer/developer most of my time has been given over to clients and their sites. Thus by passing my one true passion, bird photography.

After much stress and deliberation from the past two weeks I decided I am pulling up my waders and going for it! I am not putting this project off any longer.

Its funny how life has a way of approving of what you do. Since the decision to go for this I have had two to three people emailing and asking if they could be a field contributor and others asking if they could submit articles from time to time.
Some have continuously ask if this site was ever going to go live again.

Well my friends, that day is here. I have opened the doors and now the fun begins. We still have a lot of work to do on the site during the building process but it is there for all to see.
Isn't it funny how picking up a camera or flipping through bird images of others makes the stress go away and the inspiration to start flowing.

And on another note!

Anyone wanting to be a regular filed contributor for your area, or just submit articles for our readers from time to time about Florida Birding, please contact me.

And to answer another question, no, this is not a printed magazine, not yet. However, there has been some interest from a certain publisher to perhaps do that in the future, so we shall see.

All the content on this site is free to read and enjoy.

Thanks for stopiing by and happy birding to you all!

Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week in Your State October 12-18, 2009
“President Teddy Roosevelt established tiny Pelican Island in Florida in 1903 as the first National Wildlife Refuge. Roosevelt’s mission was clear: protect Pelican Island’s birds from poachers and plume hunters,” said Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar. “And with that simple promise of wildlife protection, the National Wildlife Refuge System was born. It is my hope that citizens across the country will take advantage of this weeklong celebration to experience wildlife in their natural habitats and play a firsthand role in conservation by participating in special events and programs, or simply observing and enjoying the great outdoors at a local refuge.”
